After suffering a concussion due to medical negligence, I found myself in a place where words failed me, not just because of brain fog, pain, or trauma, but because I felt deeply unheard. The injury didn’t just affect my body; it took my clarity, my energy, and for a time, my ability to advocate for myself. In that silence, I turned to art. Through a series of small, intimate paintings, I began to reclaim my voice. Each brushstroke became a thread in my healing — from the chaotic energy of pain, to the tender calm of rest, to the slow, uncertain return of hope. These pieces are more than visuals; they are moments — my moments of stillness, struggle, and strength.
You’ll see many flowers in my work. For me, flowers represent a safe space — and a metaphor for healing. A flower doesn’t bloom overnight. It needs time, care, sunlight, and water. And sometimes, we have to prune what no longer serves to grow. That’s what healing has looked like for me. Art has given me a way to speak when the system failed to listen. These works are an offering of honesty — from my body to your eyes, from silence to story.
